I am Ana Orozco from New York. I have been asked to set up a fundraiser for a woman in Gaza, Raneem Abu Zaid. She is trying to survive with her father, they lost their home, and are living in a tent. A friend of mine has set up several fundraisers for folks in Gaza and is at capacity so he asked me to support Raneem. This is my first time sponsoring a fundraiser for someone else. I had a video call with Raneem and I have been communicating with her since I was introduced to her. She shared her story with me below. Once I send her the funds I will share receipts through GoFundMe updates with those of you who donate.

From Raneem:

I am the daughter of war. I am a girl who has lived through war with all its pain. My father is sick and was injured in the war, and I have no brothers or support. I live under siege, I fear for him every moment, and I try to be strong for him.

I dreamed of completing my university studies, but the war stole my dream from me, just as it stole my security.

Everyday I wake up to the sound of bombing, holding my father's hand and saying: "Oh God, protect him, for I have no one else." Despite everything, I still have hope.

I am a daughter of war, but also a daughter of patience. And I will not give up... Even if everything around me breaks. My house was completely bombed and we had no shelter left.
