Help Randy on His Road to Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Pam Hoffmann. I am raising funds to assist my son with medical bills and living expenses. On April 19, 2023 my son, Randy Hoffmann, was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on his way home from work. A driver ran a red light just as Randy was entering the intersection and Randy’s motorcycle struck the truck at approximately 40 mph. A witness described Randy striking the truck with his midsection and then flying over the truck and landing in the roadway.
Randy was taken to a local hospital where he was stabilized and then transferred to a trauma center. We learned one of his most serious injuries was the T9 vertebrae, which was fractured into three pieces, causing a high risk of being paralyzed. His pelvis was fractured into seven pieces and his spine had become disconnected from the pelvis. He had a fractured right ankle, broken ribs, broken collarbone, damage to his kidney and liver and some facial injuries.
Over the next 10 days Randy underwent three surgeries to repair the most serious injuries. He remained in ICU for 10 days and at the trauma center for three weeks. He was then transferred to a rehabilitation center for three weeks to begin his recovery. He is now home and participating in outpatient therapy.
Randy has been off work since April 19. It is unknown when he will be able to return to work in any capacity. Medical bills are flooding in and his day to day living expenses need to be met. Any help with these expenses would be greatly appreciated.
