Help Randy Johnson care for his daughter Skylar
Donation protected
When Randy Johnson's 2 year old daughter Skylar started getting sick in February, he and his wife could not imagine what would happen next. At the end of February, Skylar was rushed to the hospital with concerning symptoms. She was admitted to their local hospital and then quickly transferred to SickKids Hospital in Toronto. Unfortunately, Skylar's condition continued to deteriorate as doctors tried to determine what was wrong. After weeks in the hospital and countless tests, Skylar was diagnosed with Autoimmune encephalitis (AE). AE is a type of brain inflammation where the body's immune system attacks healthy cells and tissues in the brain or spinal cord. It is a rare, complex disease that can cause rapid changes in both physical and mental health.
Randy, his wife Rachael, and their 9 month old son, have been commuting and living in Toronto in order to spend as much time as possible by Skylar's side. As we can all imagine, this has been an incredibly tough situation for the entire family to experience. As a valued member of the MPS Team, we want to help Randy and his family in any way we can. MPS will match any GoFundMe donations made to Randy’s family as they continue to deal with Skylar’s ongoing condition and circumstances.
