Hi, my name is Victoria, and I’m raising funds to help my son, Randy, get a safe wheelchair-accessible van.
Randy was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at one year old and depends on a power wheelchair for mobility. Reliable transportation is essential for his medical care, independence, and daily life.
I purchased a used handicap-accessible van last year, but it now has a fuel leak and cannot be repaired because the fuel tank has been discontinued by Dodge. Two mechanics have confirmed this. I have also applied for multiple assistance waivers, but for reasons I still don’t understand, Randy does not qualify, leaving us without help.
Wheelchair-accessible vans cost $40,000–$50,000+, which I cannot afford alone. I’m hoping to raise $30,000 or more to help secure a reliable van.
My goal is to get Randy a vehicle that will safely support him not just now, but through his adulthood, so transportation is one less barrier he has to face as he grows.
For transparency, I have included photos of the fuel leak in our current van as well as a screenshot from the mechanic confirming that the replacement part is no longer available.
Any donation or share would mean the world to us. Thank you for your kindness and support.
