Help Randy fight Stage 2 pancreatic cancer
Donation protected
10/30/23 UPDATE: As always, thank you to everyone who donated, boosted the fundraiser and/or reached out to Randy. After two chemo treatments, the road ahead is long and overwhelming, but thanks to family and friends, Randy is doing okay. Despite health insurance, Randy still owes over $15,000 in medical expenses. Added to ongoing bills for for his car and basic needs, the financial pressures of being sick continue to mount. We humbly ask for people to continue to find ways to support him knowing that chemo is just one phase of Randy's journey fighting Stage 2 Pancreatic cancer.
Randy, a proud father and still my 'little' cousin, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is doing everything he can to focus on treatment and healing. As a result, Randy isn't able to work and is getting through the mountains of paperwork to file for short and long term disability. Until these benefits come through, Randy needs support so he can maintain his car to get to chemotherapy, as well as pay for basics, like his phone and the healthy food recommended by his care team.
Randy is much younger than most people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and we are hopeful that with aggressive treatment, that his outcomes will be different. However, this diagnosis comes as a shock, and with a week spent in an inpatient unit, Randy is already facing tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills.
Asking for any help folks are able to give, whether its a few dollars to pay for parking at the hospital, or more to ensure he has what he needs to face this very difficult, and at many times painful, diagnosis.
Randy would like to express his gratitude for the care he received at University of Wisconsin Madison hospital and the nurses who supported him through a very difficult time.
