My name is Randolph D Garrett living in Tumwater WA after moving here from where I grew up in the very expensive SF Bay Area. I have had housing problems for many years, but I am now settled in subsidized housing here.

I am severely disabled and elderly and have suffered from a lot of scams, squatting issues, and other incidents that have cost me a lot of money and all my personal possessions while under my limited SSI and food stamp money. I try to make money or get a job, but I have failed to do so partly from severe depression and very bad job market.

Autism and deafness have made friendship way too hard, and the depression pretty much has made me unable and unwilling to burden someone as a friend.
At present my depression despite medication from my vehicle being undrivable has me giving up on life and doing any activity.

Fixing up my Nissan Quest for my badly needed transportation will help me get back on the road to employment and fixing my poor health.

I have vertigo so that buses can be sickening so I need to drive my own transportation and I am dependent on my powerchair to get around instead of walking which I cannot do.

It needs a timing belt, wheelchair lift for my powerchair, as well as the windshield seal replaced though that is not in the estimate. All other minor repairs I can do easily and just need to buy affordable parts over time.

It’s a great vehicle for me as I’m morbidly obese and I can’t drive most other vehicles so it would be fantastic for me to go to college, to have a job, appointments, shopping, physical therapy, and much more.

My situation:
• I purchased a 1997 Nissan Quest minivan that is great for me with money from a totaled vehicle surrender to the insurance company.
• Sadly, after driving for a bit, the check engine light came on and the code reader indicated that the timing belt must be replaced. I’ve stopped driving the vehicle and canceled insurance.
• It’s perfect for carrying my powerchair with me to go to appointments and shopping plus getting food bank groceries I need.
• I cannot get a loan.
• I have bad credit.
• I am 65 years old and disabled.
• I have never married and have no children.
• I have severe depression, but I am well medicated.
• I’m a non-smoker, no drugs, no drinking.
• I try to be the best I can be.
• I’m on SSI and Food Stamps but no other income.
• I have no friends here I Washington, nor family or relatives.
• My brother is estranged and addict..
• I live alone with one cat in a subsidized apartment.
• I’m unemployed and nearly unemployable.
• I’ve been scammed by a job market full of scammers.
• I am a former uncertified tech wizard with no proof of knowledge.
• I am planning on going to college soon when I can get financial aid after the vehicle is fixed.
• I have autism, deafness, spinal injury, and poor health.
• I have nothing of great value to sell.
• I’m heavily in debt trying to make payments to improve my credit rating.
• I use a wheelchair to get around.
• I have no savings at all.
• I have a defaulted student loan and a lot of debts.
• I have a lot of financial problems.

What I need to do to get around better is to get the vehicle fixed and get the wheelchair lift to put my powerchair in the minivan so I can get around.

Your money will be used to do that, and I hope I can get a total of $2,680 to get it all together for the wheelchair van so I can start living again.

I have suffered from decades of bad things happening to me from evictions without cause to scams robbing me of things and money.

I’ve had problems getting assistance from the charities as they lack funds for this.

I hope to be able to get a job using my experience in technology plus go to college to document my skills.

Please help so I can get around and get back to life. I enjoy the area and am glad I have stable housing, finally!
