Help Randi with her Kidney Transplant Expenses
Hello,
My name is Lori and I am trying to help my daughters fund the expenses associated with a Kidney transplant. About 9 years ago we got the news that my daughter Randi's kidneys started to fail. It was the hardest news to accept; not knowing what to do or expect, we started researching, speaking to doctors, and educating ourselves on what the future will hold. My daughters rheumatologist referred her to the Mayo clinic, and she was able to talk to amazing nurses and doctors regarding her situation. They monitored her due to the reduced function of her kidneys, and have continued to do so. Randi has reached stage 4 kidney failure and was told that her function would never return to normal and that she is in the stage before she would have to start dialysis. The doctors are trying to perform the surgery before this happens, due to dialysis having a negative impact on the body. When the kidney function started to decrease at a consistent pace, we were told about the option of a live donor. My daughter Christina, or Flippy as some of you might know her, filled out the application and started the process of becoming a live donor. After a week of testing, and a few weeks of review and meetings, we got the news that she was a 99.8% match! With a matching donor, they were able to schedule a surgery date in late September, and we are trying to raise the money before then. Randi will need to stay in Arizona for 5 months, and we are asking for assistance to cover surgery and associated living expenses.
Any amount donated is greatly appreciated and will help the girls immensely.
Thank you for taking the time to read this,
Lori
