Help Randall's Family During Medical Crisis
Donation protected
Thursday, Randall had his first seizure while he was sleeping, and it woke my daughter and granddaughter up. It was the worst one, and it took him a long time to bounce back to being somewhat lucid. Paramedics told me to get him to the ER right away, as his confusion was not good. The ER took a CT scan, bloodwork, urine, and everything looked fine, and he was discharged.
We went right home and climbed in bed before 6 a.m.
At 9 a.m., he had his second seizure, also while sleeping. It wakes us up again. He starts and can't stop throwing up; his head hurts bad. So we take him back to the ER. They order an MRI but save it for the neurologist because they're busy. They do a spinal tap to send it off for testing. It looks good and clear, but you never know. They give him a prescription for anti-seizure medication.
This is after a long few years where he will randomly puke himself to the point of confusion. The doctors then called it Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome, which is a fancy way of saying they don't know what's causing it. But we are hopefully going to get answers now.
Because of the seizures, he cannot drive or work (he is in construction). He was the primary earner in the family, so this is a big blow. Please help them out while they work on finding out what is causing the illness and figure out what their lives will look like now.
