Help Us Give These Dogs a Second Chance in the Rio Grande Valley

The Rio Grande Valley is in crisis when it comes to homeless animals. Strays are everywhere, shelters are overwhelmed, and rescues are stretched far beyond capacity. Despite the odds, we continue to say “yes” when dogs have nowhere else to go.

For the past couple of years, we have been fostering dogs on our ranch in partnership with Border Paws of the RGV, providing a safe place for dogs who would otherwise have little chance of survival. Two of our current fosters have been with us for over a year—waiting patiently for the right forever homes.

Recently, our situation grew even more urgent.

On October 24, 2025, three new dogs wandered onto our ranch.

On December 17, 2025, another dog appeared—alone, scared, and in need of help.

That brings us to four new unexpected rescues—two females and two males—on top of the dogs already in our care.

The rescue has generously covered the cost to spay both female dogs, which we are incredibly grateful for. However, we still have three male dogs that urgently need to be neutered to prevent even more unwanted litters in an area already drowning in need.

In addition to veterinary costs, the ongoing care adds up quickly:

$25 per month, per dog for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention

Approximately 50 pounds of dog food every week

Daily care, shelter, cleaning, and monitoring—provided entirely by us

We don’t turn dogs away when they show up at our gate hungry, injured, or abandoned—but we can’t do this alone.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps cover:

Neuter surgeries for the remaining male dogs

Monthly preventative medications

Food and basic care for dogs who have nowhere else to go

Any donations received beyond the needs of our current foster dogs will be donated directly to Border Paws of the RGV to help other dogs in the Rio Grande Valley who are still waiting for help.
