Help Ramzi and his family escape the Gaza Genocide

Thank you so much for your support to this GoFundMe campaign. My name is Mila, Peruvian born, and a Canadian citizen. I had the pleasure of befriending this wonderful Gazan journalist and hero, Ramzi Abu Amer. This is the call of his heart and also the call of mine. Please take some time to read his story.

My name is Ramzi Abu Amer and I am 37 years old. My wife Shimaa and I have three beautiful children, Adam (6 years old), Malak (10 years old), and Mohammed (2 years old). I have been working as a journalist since 2009. I love telling the stories of my people and I take my job seriously. I am internationally recognized as a journalist, and have worked in channels all over the world.

However, during this struggle, I have witnessed more than 100 journalists and friends losing their lives or the lives of their loved ones while showing the world the reality of our situation.

I had a wonderful life and a beautiful house in Gaza City, which is now just an empty shell. The pictures below are from the beginning of the conflict. The bombing destroyed our house. I can't reach it and take pictures of the ruins, because of the presence of the occupation forces in the area where I live.

During this siege, we have been displaced six times, could not find comfort or safety anywhere. That is why I am calling on you to help raise the funds needed for my family to leave Gaza and start again somewhere else.

The cost of leaving Gaza is high. It ranges between $2,500.00 and $5,000.00 per person, regardless of age, to be allowed to leave Gaza. This does not include a processing fee of $2,000 per person, $2,000 for transportation, and a 2.9% commission fee. These are estimates based on many sources here on the ground and outside Gaza.

The total, after all the calculations and careful study, needed is $41,500.00. This may seem a big number but together we can achieve anything. Please consider making a donation to help save lives. This dangerous situation and hardship are inexplicable. We consider our lives a blessing with every passing minute, because the situation can change quickly. The stench of death in the air and unimaginable chemicals cost blood and lives in a second.
