Help Pastor Ramon Symon Beat Cancer

Donation protected
Pastor Ramon Symon needs a liver transplant.

Despite being in great need medically and financially, Pastor Ramon is not letting cancer stop him from serving the Lord by serving others.

As the Associate Pastor for the last four years at True Light Church of God in Oakland, every week, with few exceptions, he and his lovely wife Sannette drive the 165 miles round trip from their home in Modesto to True Light where they give out fresh produce and groceries to residents in the Prescott (a.k.a. Lower Bottoms) neighborhood of West Oakland.

When asked why he still serves when he is the one who needs to be served, Pastor Ramon simply refers to Matthew 6:33, his favorite Bible verse: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these. things shall be added unto you”

To date, Pastor Ramon has had four liver cancer surgeries. His last round of chemoembolization was this June 28th. In chemoembolization, anti-cancer drugs are injected directly into the blood vessel feeding the cancerous tumor.

The Good News:
Pastor Ramon recently qualified to be placed on the UCSF donor list to await a new liver.

The Bad News:
Despite four liver surgeries and several rounds of chemoembolization, his liver has deteriorated to the point that he now needs a new liver.

Interestingly, Pastor Ramon, 60, retired in 2012 from Sutter Health's Memorial Medical Center in Modesto where he worked in OR maintenance and was responsible for sterilizing operating rooms.

Besides his steadfast belief in the Lord, Pastor Ramon is encouraged and supported by Sannette, his wife of 43 years. Sannette is known not only for her frequent smile but for always being there for Pastor Ramon as a constant source of light and love. Pastor Ramon and Sannette have five children and six grandchildren who sustain them through the good and hard times.

Donating is easy and takes just a few minutes. Simply click on the yellow "Donate" button on this page. You do NOT need a GoFundMe account to donate! If you’re able to offer financial support, your contribution—whether big or small—will provide medical and living expenses for Ramon and his family as he fights the biggest fight of his life.

Please keep Pastor Ramon and his family in your prayers.

THANK YOU!
