Being a small town, many of you are aware that Ramiro (PITO) Gonzales was a passenger involved in a fatal car accident late Sunday, August 29th. His life changed in a blink of an eye. The impact of the accident was extreme, causing severe injury. He has a cervical spine fracture at C7-T1 with severe spinal canal stenosis; soft tissue injury and ligamentous with T2 hyper intensity extending from C1-T3; tearing of the C1-C2 ligaments; and tearing of the ligaments at C7-T1. He has undergone two major surgeries within the first four days. Recently they also discovered a collapsed lung. Ramiro (PITO) stayed paralyzed as a result of the accident; affecting his quality of life, such as the ability to carry out daily activities. He will now have medical needs for the rest of his life. Ramiro (PITO) does not have health insurance. Because he is uninsured, he does not have the coverage or financial means needed to get transferred into an inpatient physical therapy facility. He now has the expense of needing to purchase a hospital bed and wheel chair. He will also incur the cost of oxygen and physical therapy until he can get medically funded. He has applied for Social Security however that process at the initial level can take up to 120 days for a decision. And even if he is deemed disabled by definition of Social Security standards, there will be an 18 month lapse in which he will not have any type of medical coverage after the first 6 months. I have set up this account to help with medical care cost and necessities; as well as to help cover the cost of going and coming to seek medical attention. Ramiro (PITO) has a lot of work ahead of him, and your donation/gift will make it that much easier to get things done and thrust him forward.
