My name is Stephanie Villa-Lopez. I am setting up this GoFundMe in support of my friend Nohemi Ramirez and the Ramirez family.

On March 10, 2023, at around midnight, Nohemi and her family were awoken by neighbors knocking frantically on their door notifying them to evacuate due to the breach of the Pajaro River. In panic and fear, her family gathered whatever they could in bags and fled their home before the water reached them. Left with only their car and a few personal belongings, they were left without a place to call home. That night, they were forced to sleep in their car.

Nohemi Ramirez is the youngest of her family. Nohemi’s mother, Cleotilde Ramirez, has been undergoing dialysis treatment for the past three years and, as a result, has a weak immune system. Over the past few weeks, her mother has still been undergoing treatment despite the circumstances. Nohemi, her father, and her brother have been doing everything in their power to keep their mother in a comfortable safe space by booking their family into hotels or motels.

Due to this, their savings are running low, and over the past few days, they have been forced to return to sleeping in their car. Left without a place to call home, their home deemed inhabitable, and their personal belongings destroyed, they are doing everything they can to get back on their feet.

Any money donated will go directly to support Nohemi’s family in gaining stability. This money will be utilized by Nohemi and her family to access safe shelter, stable housing, food, basic necessities, and more to begin rebuilding their lives.
