Hi everyone, Ramen's momma here! After posting our video of Ramen's idiopathic head tremors, we've receiving so much support and getting countless people asking to create a go fund me so we finally caved. We will be sure to post updates and process on our Tiktok account with full transparency so more people can have awareness.
A bit about our story: I got Ramen as a rescue support animal while I lived in Shanghai, China. I was teaching English over there for about 3 years. Ramen provided me lots of love and support on my darkest and loneliest days over in China while I was experiencing anxiety and depression. His smile lights up my world and he's truly such a special angel to me and gift from God! I honestly wouldn't have lasted as long as I did without the warmth my fur baby provided for me. Fortunately we had a smooth transition back to the USA soon after COVID. Ramen has adjusted to his life over here and he is loving the USA.
Recently, he was diagnosed with IVDD also known as intervertebral disc disease or slipped disc. A few weeks ago we noticed Ramen jerking his head back almost as if had a pinched nerve. A few days later he started getting tremors that were lasting 3-5 minutes at a time and would come throughout the day and in the night. After taking him to the vet ASAP and getting all possible tests, we got the correct diagnosis which was IVDD, the vet found 2 slipped discs, one in his neck and in his spine, and the vet has also found arthritis. We are currently on a treatment plan and will give updates on Ramen's path to full recovery. Ramen will be resting for 3 months while taking homeopathic medicine to ease any pain he is experiencing. Ramen will also be seeing a chiropractor and receiving acupuncture treatment to ensure he has a complete recovery and does not need surgery. His diet will also be monitored to boost his health, along with lots of rest and love from his family. We have estimated costs to be around $5000 which will include vet visits, medication, bi-weekly chiropractic and acupuncture treatments. we will donate any additional funds to The Humane Society of the United States. We appreciate our loving community so so much. Blessings.
