Help Ramatu Turn Pain Into Purpose

Hi, my name is Ramatu Kamara.

I’m the heart and hands behind Sweet Tuu’s Cakes & Treats. I’m a single mother of two, a self-taught cake artist, and a woman who has turned pain into purpose. In 2018, I started my business out of my kitchen as a way to heal and to bring joy to others. I love bringing important moments to life by creating custom cakes and treats and making everlasting memories with every bite.

In December 2023, I survived a major car accident that nearly took my life. The vehicle was totaled. Since the accident I have been in and out of work due to lack of reliable transportation and this year alone I have been let go from three jobs. My childcare paperwork was mishandled and that left my son without services. As a single mom, these challenges have taken a toll on my household and my children’s lives.

But through it all, one thing has stayed constant: my calling. I believe God spared me for a reason, and He’s been telling me to step fully into my gifts. After losing another job in August 2025, I made the decision to listen to that still, small voice and focus on Sweet Tuu’s Cakes & Treats full time. By growing my business, I can eliminate childcare costs, create a flexible schedule for my family, and finally build stability doing what I love.

I’m fundraising to invest in equipment, ingredients, licensing, marketing, and reliable transportation so I can take my business to the next level.
