Help Ralph the Dog and Save Issy's Best Friend

Early last year, my family made the decision to buy a family pet as a support dog for my younger sister who had been diagnosed with high-level anxiety. Over the last year and a half they've become inseparable and Ralph the dog has become her best friend and the one she turns to when she feels down.

Yesterday afternoon on the 8th of August, he was playing fetch on the beach when he went under the front wheel of a car retrieving a boat from the water. It was a horrendous accident which has left Ralph with damaged lungs and a fractured spine. The whole family is very upset but Issy, my youngest sister, is completely devastated. Ralph is now in the care of a veterinary hospital in intensive care and in need of an operation to stabilize his spine. The cost of pre and post-op care in addition to the cost of the operation is shockingly expensive and potentially leaves us with an awful decision to make. I have created this in the hope that some kind souls may be happy to donate any amount they wish to put towards the cost of Ralph's recovery and at the same time save Issy's best friend.

At the moment, Ralph's lungs need to stabilize before it is safe to carry out the operation, which could take several days. Currently,  12 hours of care costs $1500 and he is in there 24 hours a day. It' this which we're scared might push the operation and post-op care out of reach.

If we are incredibly fortunate and people's generosity exceeds the amount required, then any additional funds will be donated to either an animal or mental health charity.
