Hi, everyone. It's Ralph. I'm not very good at asking for help as I tend to keep my problems to myself so as not to burden others because I know everyone is dealing with their own, and I don't want to pile mine on top of theirs. But I'm at this point now where I don't know what else to do. So here it goes...
To bring everyone up to speed: I've recently lost my job that I've held for almost 8 years, and I'm currently facing the fact that I'm about to lose my apartment next month in October. Last year in February, I was confined to Duke Hospital and had to undergo several tests and surgery due to my diagnosed high blood pressure. Even with my medical insurance at the time, I was given 15 months to pay off all my medical bills. I unfortunately wasn't able to pay off the large amount of money even within the 15-month period, and the payment was forced out of my bank account due to the legal agreement of the payment. With both my checking and savings being in the same bank account, I was left with a negative bank statement. After roughly a month of work, I was slowly trying to financially recover myself and placed my bank account back into the positive numbers. And then unexpectedly, I lost my job the following month in August. The department I worked for and the employees I worked with were sold to a new company, and we were to start the transfers during the beginning of that month. I hit a snag in the process and was told by the new company's HR to wait for a call and/or email from them so that they can review and assess my situation and help me proceed with the onboarding with the new company. Weeks have gone by, and I've yet to hear anything from HR or the company themselves. Even though I've sent them emails and phone calls, I heard nothing back from them. After a month, I've come to the decision that the company didn't bother getting back to me and that I was left behind. I was able to pay off my bills for the month of September, but due to me still trying to recover from the medical bills, I am now unable to pay off any of my bills.
I'm now asking for any sort of financial help to keep my apartment and myself afloat for the next few months until I find new employment.
Rent - $800 x 3 months, $2,400 ($2,450 due to fees)
Electricity - $150 x 3 months, $450 ($500 due to tax/fees)
Internet - $150 x 3 months, $450 ($500 due to fees)
Phone - $100 x 3 months, $300 ($330 due to tax/fees)
Groceries - $240 x 3 months, $720 (tax included)
----------
With currently no substantial income, the most I can do right now is send out job applications, which I have been doing since the beginning of this month. As you can see, my apartment is incredibly cheap, so much so that I've stayed and kept it for almost 6 years now and I'm scared of losing it.
Thank you for taking your time in reading this.
