My name is Lakshmi, and I am raising funds for a high school friend of mine, Rajiv Swaminathan, who is fighting for his life.

Rajiv’s kidneys failed about eight years ago. By the grace of God, he found a donor and underwent a kidney transplant five years ago. While this gave him hope, the long medical journey took a severe toll on both his health and finances. Tragically, the transplanted kidneys have now failed due to an autoimmune condition.

Today, Rajiv is barely surviving on manual dialysis, which is proving to be insufficient. His body is unable to effectively filter toxins, leaving him constantly nauseous and causing frequent blackouts. An automated dialysis machine is now his last and best chance at improving his quality of life and gaining a few more precious, meaningful years.
