From Imperial to TUM: My Last Shot at a Future I’ve Fought So Hard For

Hi everyone,

I’m Parth Gupta, a first-generation college student and an orphan from Rajasthan, India. Despite having no family support and surviving on less than $300 a month, I’ve pursued every opportunity with determination, publishing 3 research papers, working in industry, and earning admissions from top global universities like:

But despite these achievements, I lost those opportunities…

Why? Because I couldn't afford the initial deposit.

Even with my hard work and a full-time job, I couldn’t secure loans as my credit history was impacted by past financial issues tied to my uncle’s account. I reached out to banks, NGOs, and loan portals, but was repeatedly rejected due to the absence of a guarantor or collateral.

Now, I’ve been given one last chance:

I've secured admission to the Technical University of Munich (TUM) (QS 22) one of Europe’s most prestigious public universities for Chemical Engineering and Environmental Sciences with zero tuition fee.

But I need to raise €12,000 before 17th August to cover my blocked account (required for the German student visa) and partial tuition/initial expenses.

This is the final stretch.

Why This Matters:

My goal is to solve real problems in waste management, clean energy, and sustainability especially in communities like mine, where pollution and water scarcity are life-threatening issues.

TUM gives me access to the tools, labs, and mentorship to build those solutions.

This isn't just about me.

This is about proving that financial hardship should never kill a dream.
