What Is Dendritic Cell Immunotherapy?

This personalised therapy harnesses the power of my own immune system; Blood is drawn and carefully processed to create dendritic cells—special immune cells that are trained to recognise and attack cancer. Once reintroduced into my body, they help strengthen my immune response without the harsh side effects of traditional treatments. Giving it the tools to fight back in a targeted, intelligent way.

Offered privately here in the UK, this six-month programme works alongside my current treatment & has the potential to slow or even halt the progression of my cancer—giving me more time.

As you can imagine, I spend a lot of time trying to find alternative treatments to better my health. And we will not give up hope when there are still options available. If for no other reason than our two children, Elliot and Harper .

My Journey So Far;

I was originally diagnosed with treatable breast cancer back in May 2021 when I was just 26 years old. I had 6 months of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, radiation and 1 year of Herceptin. November 2022 I finally completed all of my treatment. I got 6 months out of treatment when I was sadly diagnosed in A&E with stage 4 breast cancer with brain metastasis in June 2023. I had life saving brain surgery to remove the tumour & SRS targetted radiotherapy. Heartbreakingly, 3 months later, my follow up scans shown that from this surgery the cancer had spread into the brain fluid (Leptomengeal disease), which holds a devastating prognosis of 3 months, & tumours were now growing in the lining of my brain (Dural Spread).

After too many failings throughout my primary and secondary diagnosis, we felt that private care was the only way forward, which we now fund ourselves.

This last year & a half has been a whirlwind of hope & devastation. I have gone through 3 types of chemotherapy, progression of 14 tumours in my brain, full brain radiotherapy, more targetted brain radiotherapy, lots of steroids, and most recently seizures (April 2025).

I am so grateful I have managed to outlive my expected prognosis, however treatment & symptoms have took a toll on my body. I have already gone through most of my treatment options. Which is what has led me to start looking at a more broader range of private treatments here in the UK and outside the UK.
