My name is Ryan Flanagan and I am Sarah Demers’ partner. Sarah is a very strong, big hearted, caring and a person that changed my life and others for the better. She lost her leg at birth and she’s maintained her positivity whilst overcoming such obstacles. Despite her circumstances, she continues to be the strongest woman I could ever meet. She is a mother, a fantastic partner, a career woman, an inspirational athlete, as she won many medals in skiing - including bronze for Team Canada!

She has had her current prosthetic leg (for a very long time now) even though her pregnancy and a new prosthetic is unaffordable since she is home with her daughter and not at work- also the government (ADP) only covers a percentage which leaves quite a sum of money for Sarah to pay.

Her stump is scabbing, bruising and she’s finding it hard to walk. However , through her mental strength and determination, she manages without complaint.

Our hope is to raise enough money for Sarah to get herself moving again in a new prosthesis- one which isn’t painful for her stump, and can keep up with her active lifestyle! Not many, including myself, could accomplish so much on two legs let alone one!
