Unfortunately our beautiful Mum "Vicky" grew her wings and passed away on 21/11/24 after a five week long battle for her life at Queen Elizabeth's hospital, Birmingham where she underwent two further life saving liver transplants.

Mum was a popular figure in our community, who supported so many friends and family members over the years. This was despite having her own long list of illnesses which she courageously managed no matter how challenging and difficult it was for her. The main illness she suffered from is called Primary Biliary Cholangitis which she was diagnosed with around 21 years ago. She rarely complained about her constant suffering and always made herself available when others needed any support or guidance. She would light up any room she walked into leaving a lasting impression on those she had met.

The last five weeks watching my Mum deteriorate in hospital has been mentally exhausting for all the family members present but without the help and support from Fisher House UK it would have been so much worse. Fisher House is a military charity for serving and ex servicemen and they supported us throughout this difficult time providing accommodation and wellbeing support. As my Dad is ex-military we were lucky to be able to have use of their facilities. And as a family we are all grateful for the love and support they provided us with during this difficult time, we plan to make a donation in the near future.

I would be grateful for any donations made towards this fund to help ease the burden and costs we are now faced with in the run up to the festive period. Please feel free to leave any comments about Mum from those that knew her. The funeral will be held on Friday 20th December 2024.
