My name is Harleigh. I was adopted by my grandparents, meaning that they are older in age (I am 21 for reference), and this could lead to some complications. In the past few years, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and it has progressively gotten worse. At the end of March, she had a fall which led to her being taken to the hospital where they discovered a cracked vertebra and a severe brain bleed. The surgery was a success, but it has left her in worse shape than before; she can no longer walk, feed herself, etc. We have had her in the memory care part of the hospital, and we recently found out that it is not going to be covered by insurance. We are trying to raise money to help pay for her stay and to help her get better memory care to make her life as nice as possible with her new limitations.
