Puppy Koa's ACL surgery

Hi friends, family, and all animal lovers,

I am starting this GoFundMe to raise funds to help pay for my dog Koa's ACL surgery. This is a very unexpected and extremely expensive cost that I cannot afford on my own. My pet insurance also does not cover the cost of the surgery, so I am reaching out to friends, family, community, and all animal lovers to please help me raise $6,000 dollars to keep Koa happy, healthy, and comfortable.

**TW: graphic images below** I found Koa when he was 6 months old, neglected and abused in John McClaren park on Christmas Eve while on a walk with my other pup. Koa was starving ,weighing only 15 pounds,, dehydrated, and had nails so long and curled under that he could barely walk. I knew immediately that I was going to take him in and nurse him back to health. Upon seeing me, he crawled into my arms. His life was in danger and I hate to imagine what would’ve happened if we didn’t cross paths.

With time, love, and nourishment, Koa has bounced back tenfold and made an astonishing recovery. He is now 1 year old and 55lbs. He's the cuddliest little goofball and all he ever wants is to get pets from anyone who walks by. He loves sleeping in and playing tug. He and my other dog Moose are now bonded brothers who love to play at the beach together. He has been such a blessing to my life and those around him. Unfortunately, we found out that little Koa tore his ACL this week. He is currently unable to put any weight on his back leg and walks with a limp.

As for now, Koa is on pain and anti-inflammation medicine until I can schedule an appointment for his surgery. The doctor quoted the total cost for this to be $6,000. I want him to have the best quality of life and to live without pain.
