Hello my name is Kris Melena, and I am the youngest daughter of Isaac Chy Melena. My dad passed away September 22nd, after months of fighting illnesses, and the constant pain of shingles.

My family and I are still struggling to process the loss of his light, but I am hoping any contribution can help my mom pay for funeral and memorial expenses. All money will go to celebrating his life.

Chy helped build the city of Santa Maria, and maintained it. He worked for the Housing authority of Santa Barbara county for 40 years, and showed kindness and shared laughs with just about anyone. You couldn't take him to a store without him knowing a cousin, or a friend from somewhere down the way. If you needed him he was there. Whether it was a call for maintenance work, or a call from family, he would help you make your life a little easier and give you a smile along the way.
