Sean's Bone Marrow Transplant

Hi everyone,

Our family in Sunnyvale, CA are working together to spread the word and raise money to help cover for Sean's bone marrow surgery.  Our nephew Sean Dane has Aplastic Anemia and will need to go undergo surgery as soon as possible. Him and his family will need to be flown to Chennai, India where the procedure will be done and they will need to stay for at least 4 months to be monitored. 100% of the money we raise will go towards paying for the medical bills and all the donations we receive through this platform will be transferred into my personal account which will then be sent to our cousin Susan (Sean's mom) via PayPal.

Sean Dane was born on March 18, 2018 with a blood disorder that prevents him from producing enough platelets needed to heal and have a normal life. He needs a bone marrow transplant to have that chance at a normal life. His family is asking help to raise the money to transfer Sean to a hospital for the transplant. Below is a letter from his mother Susan who is our cousin.

"I gave birth to Sean Dane on March 18, 2018 and we instantly observed that there were rashes at his chest area and some on his arms. My son Sean Dane, has been in and out of the hospital since day 2 of his life.

We have sent him to a Pediatrician to check and blood tests were done, the result came and his platelet was down. The doctor immediately referred us to a specialist, Pedia-Hematologist. We were informed that a decreased platelet count is dangerous to a 2 days-old baby. The same day we went to the specialist and she have said baby Sean needs to be admitted to the hospital for further monitoring. From there my baby was started to Antibiotics and platelet transfusions. In the 6th day of his confinement his Red Blood Cells also went down along with his platelet, so two components of blood were given to him. Other medicines were started. We transferred him to bigger hospitals in the Philippines but nothing has changed. His platelet is still going down and transfusion will be done and after 5-7 days it will go down again repeatedly.

We have brought him to Dubai since I am working there as well, and I want to be continuously present on my child's well being. I have sent him to private hospital in Dubai hoping they can do something for my child. But it is still the same, nothing seemed to work. And since I am at no fund anymore, I transferred him to a government Hospital and they have done everything as well but my son's condition still the same. Bone marrow aspiration was done and Central Line on his chest were made in order to have a better access on his veins for his transfusions. And the Doctor handling my son told me, last November 2018 that my child would need a BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT immediately once he turns 1 year old. He just turned 1 yr old, last month. And we are in the process of checking hospital that can do and at the same time not too much expensive, as all my savings and loans have been drained for the 1 year of treatment and hospitalization of my son.

He needs the transplant as soon as possible since the doctor who would do the transplant said that continuous platelet and blood transfusion will reduce the chance of success. That is why I am knocking on everyone's heart to HELP me raise money since the lowest cost we were informed for this transplant is around $50,000.00 USD.

Please help me and my family raise the amount to save my son's life and for him to live a normal life out of the hospital. Once again thank you for all your kind hearts."

-Susan (Seans' mom)
