Travis Denby Family Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Anyone who knows my Dad, Travis Denby, knows that his care for others and willingness to help those in need have no bounds. Today, he is the one in need of everyone's help; Both for him, and for our whole family.

On February 1st, he began having some concerning symptoms and called for help to his wife Larissa as well as our neighbors. Immediately we knew something was seriously wrong and he was transported by ambulance to emergency where medical staff discovered both a bleed and a mass in his brain. He is now undergoing a craniotomy to clear an intracranial hemorrhage and to remove a brain tumor causing the bleeding in his brain.

His long road to recovery will be difficult and will involve many, many therapies and undoubtably many unexpected expenses and stresses for our family. We hope our family, friends, and strangers - many of whom have experienced my dad's love and kindness firsthand = are able to help our family navigate this unimaginable, unexpected, and difficult time in whatever way you can.

Please; share our page to your networks, donate if you can, and above all else, keep my dad and family in your thoughts. We are so deeply appreciative and thank you so much for anything you can give.

Sincerely,
Payton Denby

February 21st, 2022

This is not the update any of us wanted to be providing, but we are once again looking to our family and friends for continued support. On Friday, Feb. 18 my dad saw the oncologist and was diagnosed with glioblastoma - the same rare, aggressive, and incurable type of brain cancer that killed Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie. The next few weeks, months, and beyond will be incredibly difficult, both physically and emotionally. Dad will begin an intense daily chemo and radiation regime in early March, which will continue for six weeks. That will be followed by a break and more testing, then another number of months of chemo. While there is no cure for glioblastoma, he has so much more life to live and is determined to fight this and slow its progression as much as possible. We are right there with him in that determination. As he undergoes treatment, we will all be exploring additional alternative therapies we hope will aid us in beating this damn thing as best we can, for as long as we can. We will be by his side to support him, but there will be medical expenses, unforeseen costs, and many, many missed days of work. My dad's amazing community of family, friends and even strangers came together in love, care, and support once already. We will forever be indebted to you for that and appreciate so much what everyone has done so far. But today, we are once again humbly and gratefully asking our family and friends to help in any way possible to aid in our tireless fight. Our fundraising goal is now fluid, as is the situation... we just hope we can all come together to help dad (and our family) as much as we can, however we can.
