Help Raise Joe Back Up!

A small group of close friends of the Aguiar family, have come together to create this page in hopes of raising funds to help relieve the overwhelming stress and financial burden of ongoing medical expenses related to a tragic accident that our friend, Joe experienced at work.

Joseph Aguiar started his landscaping business 23 years ago. He is an extremely hard worker and has always taken great pride and joy in the work that he does to satisfy his customer’s needs. He is a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather to his two grandsons, and a loyal friend. Outside of work and family, Joe is an active member of the Church of Jesus Saviour, in Newport, where he enjoys volunteering for his community at the Holy Ghost Feast and Summer Bazaar. As most of us know, Joe is not the kind to willingly ask for help, but is always there to offer support for others in need.

On Thursday, February 17th, Joe tragically fell 12+ feet from a tree while working. He suffered many serious injuries including a concussion, multiple pelvic fractures, a torn rotator cuff, ruptured bladder, and torn muscles and tendons in his limbs. He is currently unable to walk as a result of his injuries.

Joe was hospitalized for three weeks following the accident. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to diagnose and repair his internal injuries and stabilize his pelvis. The road ahead includes additional surgeries on his pelvis and rotator cuff, extensive physical therapy, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation. He has recently begun the recovery process at home, with the help and support of his family and friends.

Joe and his family are facing significant physical and financial challenges for the foreseeable future. We are hoping that all of those who have been touched by Joe, will pitch in and help take some of the financial worry off of his plate, to help him get back on his feet!
