We lost our home in an arson attack

In the early hours of Saturday 24th May, while we were away camping, our beautiful houseboat which was our home, was set on fire in an arson attack, destroying the life we had built for our 3 children. The perpetrator handed themselves in to police within 24hrs, and now we are starting the difficult process of rebuilding our lives from the ground up.

The funds raised will go towards essential needs including clothing, food and emergency accommodation to ensure our children can continue going to school. It will also enable us to access counselling for our family and begin the process of rehousing our family and providing our children with the security and stability they need to continue to thrive in the wake of this life-changing event.

Although we had insurance, we have been informed that it will not cover the total value of our boat or the contents within. In time we may also be legally required to remove our burnt-out boat from the canal, which will come at a significant financial expense. Each and every donation helps us move forward.

Despite being rocked by this violent crime, we are overwhelmed by the friendship and community that has held us through this trying time. Words cannot express how grateful, humbled and moved we are at the outpouring of generosity and love from everyone who has heard and responded to our story.
