Help raise funds to illustrate storybook

Donation protected

Hello!
MindMatters is here to ask for your help to bring our next project into reality.
We are trying to create illustrated storybooks that focus on conversations we often shy away from.

The first book being Grief.
When I was growing up, my entire understanding and definition of grief and loss was that a person grows old, lives their entire life, and then passes. That being my definition, I was at peace when my grandfather passed when I was ten, and again when I lost my other grandfather at the age of twelve, I was okay.
But at the age of 16, I witnessed my 24-year-old brother pass, and this did not fit in my definition of grief, or rather my understanding of loss. So coping with that particular loss was so much harder because it really hit me and it caught me off guard. I have had incredible conversations that have opened my understanding of loss that has been instrumental in my coping now. Had I had these conversations earlier in life, it would have created a very different approach for me to cope with my loss. Then it would have been so much more different and it would have been healthier. I want to create a gateway for these conversations at an earlier stage for the very same reason. So I worked with a therapist to create these stories to make sure that they are appropriate.
And the first book is going to be a collection of four short stories that talk about four different situations after we lose someone.
The four stories being-
1: the Loss itself.
2: Is how the child feels or the person feels on their birthday after losing someone
3. The person that we have lost their birthday and
4.The death anniversary itself.

These four situations are things that I've had to learn over my journey, and I truly do believe conversation is powerful, and that's why we wanted to create this project. The funds that we're hoping to raise will go into three aspects, which is hardware, illustrations, and the publishing.
We want to create these stories in such a manner that it helps stay with the person, and that's why we thought, especially for children, illustrating them is the best way forward. So we're raising funds to have these stories brought to life in that particular manner. Any help is so greatly appreciated. I believe in this project and how much it can be of help to people. These conversations that I've had over the past year, starting Mind Matters has changed the way I have
dealt with my grief and it was about seven years later for me and I want to make sure that we do this at the right time. Conversation is so powerful, I cannot stress it enough and that's why we want to create this project.
If you feel called upon to contribute, we are so greatly appreciative of any help that you can give us. Even if it's as simple as sharing this video and sharing the GoFundMe link, we really
hope that we can bring you this project. Thank you so much for taking the time to read to
this and I really hope we can bring you these stories.
