This gofundme was created on behalf Esteban Garcia, Xiomara’s father and Martha Haro Xio’s grandmother. The funds raised will go toward medical expenses, travel to and from Fresno CA and lodging for the family to be close to Xio while she receives care at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

 

On Saturday April 9th Xio’s life took an unexpected turn when the car she was in was hit by a seeding car and flipped several times.

Xio sustained multiple injuries including a broken spine, intestinal and kidney damage. She was rushed into surgery immediately having her kidney and part of her intestines removed and hardware implanted to stabilize her spine.

 

As I am writing this, not even one week later….she has had her breathing tube and neck brace successfully removed, she has also been taken off several medications and will soon start rehabilitation. She is talking and laughing! Xio is strong and a fighter, her life will be different and full of new challenges but she is surrounded by the most loving and supportive family a little girl could ask for.
