Help Raise Funds for Meet and Run- A New Musical!

Hello friends, family and fellow art enthusiasts!

 

Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about my newest artistic endeavor. I am asking for help with production costs to fully produce a 45 minute movie musical. The majority of what is monetarily being asked for covers our record album production costs and space rentals needed for our sets. If we are able to fully reach our goal, we will be able to pay every artist on set- how amazing would that be?! What are we making?

 

My MFA Thesis Project (working title; “Meet and Run”) is a musical film that will bring vibrant dance, cinematography and a team of new voices to the field. It will present five characters who navigate an overarching nonlinear plot through four subplots. Each character will grapple with their own belief systems about right and wrong behavior and how they try to evade their own negative feelings. I will be researching the correlations between moral groundings, empathy and art. This piece hopes to to offer an encounter with art that will provide the viewer with an indelible experience, built, not only on a satisfying viewing of well crafted art, but upon the desire to see the world anew. In short, we are making our own ORIGINAL MOVIE MUSICAL, baby!

What is our timeline?

-Ryan, Jonathan and I have been working on the nuts and bolts since February 2021.
-I have been working on some dance preproduction with Hunter College undergrad students since August 2021.
-We assembled our 5 main characters as of the end of October 2021.
-We record our Album Nov 28th-December 6th! 
-We will film in January and February 2022
-Editing will take place February and March 2022
-Our Premiere in NYC will take place APRIL 8th, 2022!
-We hope to have additional showings in Atlanta, GA and Buffalo, NY TBD
