Help raise funds for Fernando Velazquez's funeral

Hi, My name is Angelina Carrasco, and I represent a coalition of loyal friends of our dear friend, Fernando Velazquez, who tragically passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Fernando was a long-time host, journalist, producer and co-anchor of the newscast Informativo Pacifica on radio station KPFK 90.7 FM, a non-profit radio station. He was a member of the Local Station Board at KPFK, former host of Pacifica's bilingual morning broadcast, an internationally renowned journalist and activist. His dedication to his work was unparalleled, which brought him and his co-anchor him recognition across the globe, for outstanding work. Their newscast has been broadcast in the United States, as well as many countries abroad.

Fernando was solid in his commitment to family and friends. He generously gave of himself to those in need and advocated for the underdog. Through his musical talent playing guitar, ukelele, singing, he introduced many to numerous genres of music, including contemporary, but primarily revolutionary songs that highlighted the loves and lives of the the voiceless. Fernando lived with intensity giving his all to what mattered most in his life. His impeccable work and friendship touched thousands over the years, and he will be sorely missed.
