Our beautiful Fox Red Labrador, Dougie, is only 20 months old, born on Valentine’s Day 2024. He’s the most loving, gentle boy who fills every day with joy and laughter, but sadly, his young life has already been full of pain and uncertainty.

Dougie has recently been diagnosed with OCD (osteochondritis dissecans) in his left hock and bilateral hip dysplasia, but recently his health has taken a worrying turn. He experienced a terrifying episode where he seemed to have lost control of his hind end, followed by struggling to stand and walk.

After this, his vets believe Dougie may have an underlying neurological condition that needs investigating, and that his OCD and Hip Dysplasia, are incidental findings. Upon our visit to Langfords, all tests were found to be normal, making him a bit of a medical mystery at the moment.

We unfortunately have to pay 20% of every claim made, and with the amount of vet visits, hydrotherapy, physio etc we have paid so far, the costs of these specialist appointments are far beyond what we can manage alone. We’re reaching out to friends, family, and kind hearted animal lovers to help Dougie get the care he needs.

Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward Dougie’s diagnostics and treatment at Langfords Vets, Southpaw vets and toward his conservative treatments, and possible surgery (should he need one at any point!) .
