Hi, my name is Max. I’m a 24 year old care leaver from England who has spent the last 13 months living in supported accommodation while building my life back up - focusing on my art, content creation, and working towards stable self employment.
On the 30th of January this year, I was given a 28 day notice of eviction following an incident that led to a breakdown in my relationship with staff. I appealed the decision, but unfortunately the appeal was rejected. Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to secure somewhere safe to live and keep moving forward.
I’ve reached out to my leaving care team and registered as homeless with the local council, but so far no housing solution has been offered. Because of this situation, I’ve had to pause my self employment and urgently find stable work. I’ve secured a warehouse job starting on the 16th of February, but my first pay won’t arrive until the 27th, which is also the date I must leave my current accommodation.
I’ve found an affordable Airbnb house share with bills included at £565 per month, which would give me a stable base while I get back on my feet. Right now, the biggest challenge is covering the initial cost quickly enough to secure the room before it’s no longer available.
I’m asking for support to help me bridge this gap, to give me a safe place to stay while I begin work, rebuild financial stability, and continue pursuing my long term goals. My plan is simple: work hard at my new job, live below my means, save for a proper flat deposit, and return to building my creative career so I can create a stable future for myself and, one day, a family of my own.
Any help, no matter how small, would mean more than I can explain. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
Max
