Hi, my name is kaitlyn. I’ve been selected among a group of students in my year to take part in an educational trip alongside challenges abroad to Thailand. To raise money for this trip I have set myself a personal challenge to climb one of Yorkshire’s three peaks, pen y ghent.  As part of this trip, I will be attending a school in Thailand where I will be supporting young less fortunate students to gain an education which they may not already have access to. This experience is very close to my heart as I truly believe everyone deserves a chance to make something of their lives and have a future to look forward to. In Thailand, the schools are not as equipped as ours meaning they aren’t able to gain access to the recourses we have reducing their ability to learn. I would love the chance to change this for them and make their experience within school an enjoyable time as it has been for me and many other young people. This experience will also help me to gain confidence and independence as I’ll be away from home without my family. I’m hoping to come out of this experience thankful that I’ve been able to make a change not only within the school but to the children’s lives.
