Hi! My name is Ashley Foy. I am the survivor in the Nikolaj Soerensen sexual assault case. For the past three years I have been largely self-represented in my SDRCC (Canadian Safesport) cases and as a result, the former Canadian ice dance champion who nearly killed me in a violent rape he was found to have committed has gotten off on a technical jurisdictional loophole because he could afford lawyers and I could not. The findings that found he nearly killed and raped me are not being disputed, but the jurisdiction of Canada’s SafeSport body is. As a result I am losing my case and I humbly ask you to consider donating to this fund to help me pay for a lawyer to make figure skating a safer sport for all and to give victims of abuse in figure skating a voice and justice.
