Hello, I'm Becky!
Just another little update for people who are following our story!
Max was admitted to the referral centre as an emergency yesterday evening.
We paid a £2000 deposit to get him admitted which has nearly been used up
We've had a phonecall this morning and he's on lots of medication, a feeding tube due to his sickness, severe diarrhoea and not eating which led to being very underweight.
They can't scan him yet as he's too unstable for anaesthesia but have done bloods and are awaiting the results.
He appears to be responding so we're over the moon and just thought everyone deserved to hear the news.
WE HAVE AN UPDATE.
Unfortunately it has come to a point now where we refer Max or risk him being too poorly to survive. The referral centre have called and said he needs to be seen but they can't tell us how much it will cost as they don't know exactly what they'll be treating and how long he will need it.
We have our 11 month pup, Max who we've had since he could leave his birth mum. We recently had to get him seen in an emergency and have been told he needs a CT scan but it will cost around £3000 - we simply can't afford this, and due to me loosing my job, we only have 1 wage coming in so saving the money will be impossible. Anything above this will go towards Max's treatment.
His vet has said they are worried Max may have a liver shunt and are unsure how he'll go without knowing and sorting treatment, they are doing everything they can but he isn't getting better, hence the need for this referral and scan.
Max is obviously a family member and very well loved in our community also!
He loves to show off his fancy trick, good charms and amazing behaviour - everyone comments on how well behaved he is and how great his ability to listen and carry out commands perfectly!
We wanted to further train him as an autism service dog to help one of our children who has been going through various assessments the past 2 years, which also found further 'issues' for our child that we're working on.
Max is not only great at doing what he needs too, he brought our family together after a traumatic cancer diagnosis that we have come out of stronger - and kicked that bastards backside.
Our boy has just been the icing on our family and we can't bare to let him down.
We're asking for everyone's help to get our Max this referral so we can get him healthy again and back home.
