Hello, my name is Julia Torres, and I’m reaching out with deep humility and hope. My 12-year-old son, Andres Tootill, was diagnosed with leukemia in June 2022. Our lives changed overnight and it has been a struggle to keep our heads above water ever since. As a single mother battling lupus myself, I’m doing everything I can to stay strong for my son and our future.

Living nearly an hour away from the hospital that Andres regularly receives chemotherapy and medical treatments has been a severe hardship as the long travel times have been exhausting as I’ve been working two jobs to cover the bills. It is extremely difficult asking for financial assistance, but as medical expenses and debt have piled up over the years, I’m reaching out for a lifeline.

We are asking for your support to help us:

-Cover Andres’ ongoing cancer treatment and medical bills.

-Pay for prescription medications for both of us.

-Purchase household items

-Relocate closer to the hospital so we can reduce travel stress and improve Andres’ care.

Aj is a sweet, smart, and resilient boy who has battled leukemia to just recently graduate from junior high. He’s been through so much already. He has endured bullying and come out on top. He even helped give me the strength to leave an abusive relationship. He is my world and has made me a better, and bolder person.

Despite his medical issues and severe emotional stress, he’s fighting hard, determined to return to high school and reclaim a sense of normalcy. I’m fighting beside him, doing everything I can to provide a safe, stable, and healthy environment for us both.

We are not giving up, but we could use help. Every dollar donated helps lift the incredible financial weight we’re carrying and brings us one step closer to a healthier, more hopeful life.
