At the age of 63 my dad was diagnosed with aggressive stomach cancer, just 7 months ago.
10 months ago he decided to go live this dream and emigrate to France with his fiancé, Alli. They have a gorgeous house with their two dogs and wanted to give it a go out there, renting out their gîte in the summer months.
As you know, we hit a world wide pandemic and that went on hold..
October 2020 came around and I got that phone call that we all dread as a daughter or son.
My dad got diagnosed with stomach cancer.
The frightening C word..
I managed to drive out to see him in November for a month, where very quickly he become ill. He couldn't eat, lost a lot of weight and was in lots of pain. Just before Xmas, he started on his first lot of chemo. 3 months passed and we waited for the scan results.
Unfortunately the chemo didn't work and it had spread to his Liver and Oesophagus...
2nd line of chemo started at the beginning of March, and luckily I managed to drive over again to see him. Everything seemed to be looking up, he was eating pain free, putting weight on and feeling more himself. Scan results showed the chemo was working and the cancer around the Liver had shrunk!!
He was also well enough to marry his fiancé and myself and Chris got to be a witness which is a moment I'll never forget..

Unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worse. My dad got an ulcer in his stomach which left him in a lot of pain. He stopped eating and couldn't control his pain.
He is now back in the hospital, mentally and physically struggling.
We've been told, right now there is nothing else they can do for him. It is the cancer that is causing him a lot of pain and making him unable to eat and drink.
All he wants now is to be with his family back in the UK..
And all we want is for him to be here with us, so we can help him fight this awful disease!!
He is the most brave man and I can't believe how strong he is
To get him back safe and well, we need a private plane with medical staff and medication. We have been quoted 13k and we hope to get him back as soon as possible
Any contribution will be massively helpful and greatly appreciated
Thank you
