Hi everyone, my name is Raya. I am creating this gofundme in hopes we can get some help for our sweet boy. This is Raider, he is our handsome 9 year old Doberman. If you have had the blessing to meet our sweet boy at my Dad’s old Vape shop, LIT in GJC, here in Grand Junction, Co. or have had a play date, have been a friend of ours, etc. you know Raider is nothing short of an angel! He is so pure, gentle, loving, kind, and so so sweet. Unfortunately, our world came crashing down and our handsome sweet boy needs our help..
Back in April, Raider was diagnosed with Pneumonia which never improved, despite him going through 4 rounds of antibiotics. Two weeks ago, Dad took him into the vet again and we soon realized why the antibiotics weren’t working.. Our sweet boy was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. We seen him go from being so energetic with the zoomies, wanting to go to the park to play, go for walks, jump in and out of the car, sniffing crotches, etc. to seeing him so weak, lay around the house all day, coughing, not being able to breathe, swollen tummy, swollen legs and paws, no appetite, looking so sad, uncomfortable, in pain, etc.
Yesterday October 13th, we took Raider back to the vet for his checkup and we received good news! His protein levels and red blood cell count are back up thanks to the new medications and elevating his legs with plushies and a pregnancy pillow. The Vet prescribed a few medications to try and help to keep his body functioning. He was prescribed Furosemide, Sotalol, and Vetmedin (Pimodendan).
My dad has been struggling, having to work 8+ hours a day to pay for vet bills and medications- on top of the crazy cost of living. It’s in times like these that he should be home with our sweet boy, loving on him and giving him the best end of life possible. Raider sure is a Daddy’s Boy, anyone who knows us or Raider, knows that!! If there’s anyone Raider wants to spend his long days with, it’s Dad, his best friend.
Unfortunately due to finances, we have been extremely overwhelmed with all of his medical bills, ongoing vet appointments, and medication costs. We are asking and praying for any and all help possible. Wether that be a connection you have with someone who is experiencing the same heartbreak, you suffered the same heartbreak and have advice for us, if you have any extra DCM/CHF heart meds for Raider, any extra cash you can spare, donations to help him be comfortable, or even just sharing his story! Anything and everything is so helpful and appreciated. Thank you all so much and God Bless.
