Help Ragnar Run Again - ACL Surgery for our Wiggle-Butt

Hi everyone,
We’re reaching out with very heavy hearts for help with our sweet boy, Ragnar. He’s not just a dog—he's family. He’s our Boogie-Woogie-Bonky-Wonky-Wiggle-Butt-Brokeded-Boy. A silly goose with a heart of gold, Ragnar has been a source of laughter, comfort, and unconditional love in our lives from the day we brought him home. Now, he needs us more than ever.
Ragnar is only 3 years old, and has suffered a crippling injury: he tore both of his ACLs (anterior cruciate ligaments) in his back legs. After vet visits, X-rays, and consultations with a specialist, we learned that he needs bilateral TPLO surgery (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) to regain complete mobility and live a pain-free life.
It breaks our hearts to see him hopping around on three legs. This surgery is not optional—it’s the only path forward for Ragnar to have a quality life. Without it, he will continue to struggle and decline, unable to do the things he loves most: zooming around the park, jumping up on the bed, playing fetch, going for walks, and eventually, simply standing up to eat or drink.
The cost for both surgeries, post-op care, and rehabilitation is estimated to be around $12,000. We are both very proud people, who were raised not to ask for handouts when we can work for it ourselves. That being said, as much as it pains us to ask, we simply can’t do this alone. That’s why we’re reaching out to friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers in hopes of giving Ragnar the life he deserves.
Every single dollar will go directly toward:
- Pre-surgical evaluations and imaging
- The double TPLO surgeries
- Medications and pain management
- Physical therapy and follow-up visits
If you’ve ever met Ragnar, you know how special he is—sweet, loyal, goofy, and endlessly patient. Even now, in pain, he greets us at the door, tail wagging, giving us a hearty “RooRooRoo!”
He’s a typical boy, masking his pain, and pretending it doesn’t bother him. But we can see it. He’s a little slower every time he gets up. He’s fighting to stay strong, and we’re committed to doing everything we can to help him.
If you're able to donate, no matter how small, we are endlessly grateful. Every little bit helps. And if you can’t give right now, simply sharing this campaign with others means the world to us.
Thank you for reading Ragnar’s story and for supporting him on this difficult journey. We truly believe in the power of kindness and community—and we know Ragnar does too.
With gratitude and hope,
Andrea & Matt & Ragnar (& Daeny)
