The four siblings, Mena, Moh, Youmna, and Ali, once carefree and full of laughter, now wear the haunted expressions of those who have seen too much too soon.

Mena, the eldest at 23, a Computer Science graduate, has become the sole breadwinner and pillar of strength for her family. Through more than three years of relentless conflict and destruction, she has refused to lose hope. Driven by an unwavering desire to protect her loved ones, Mena took it upon herself to master multiple languages—including French and Spanish—amidst the chaos of war, simply to bridge the gap with the outside world and make her family's story heard.

Meanwhile, her 21-year-old brother Moh, a passionate football player who successfully graduated from high school, quietens his own ambitions. Driven by immense love and selflessness, Moh put his own university dreams on hold so the family could afford to enroll Youmna in university first—a heartbreaking sacrifice made under the crushing weight of financial hardship. Her nineteen-year-old sister Youmna is currently studying English Law at Al-Azhar University. Ali, her youngest brother at 17, is in his final year of high school (Tawjihi) and dreams of completing his studies.

The constant upheaval has stolen their youth, replacing it with nightmares and an ever-present fear of the unknown. Mena aches for her family. She knows that their psychological wounds run deep and that they desperately need mental health support, something that is nearly impossible to find in their war-torn homeland.

One evening, as the family huddled together in the dim light of their temporary shelter, Mena felt a flicker of resolve ignite within her. She had to get her family to safety, to a place where Tamer could receive the medical attention he needed and where her family could begin to heal. She had heard whispers of the evacuation process to Egypt, where medical and psychological help awaited.

With determination that belied her weariness, Mena reached out to every contact she could think of. She filled out endless forms with people from the other side of the world to help set up a GFM account for the evacuation fees, which cost 30,000 USD.
