Amid Rafah crisis:Help Tamer $10K for kidney biopsy in Egypt

I’m Raghada Sami, reaching out from Rafah with a heavy heart as conflict engulfs our city. As a dedicated wife and mother, my focus is on safeguarding my family amidst the harsh realities of war.

Our urgent plea to evacuate Rafah and ensure my husband’s safety has never been more pressing.

We seek 150,000 DKK, equivalent to $21,000. Achieving this target will enable us to safely cross the Egyptian borders.

Expenses include obtaining permits to exit Gaza and crossing fees at the Egypt-Gaza border:

• $1,000 will cover GoFundMe’s transaction fees (2.9% plus $0.30 per donation).

• $5,000 for Tamer, prioritizing his evacuation due to severe health conditions.

• $5,000 each for Raghada, Minna (21 years old), Mohammed (20 years old), and Youmna (17 years old).

• $2,500 for Ali (15 years old).

The total amount needed is $28,500, slightly less than our target, as my sister in Ramallah has contributed the remaining $7,500 through direct donations and by selling her car.

This latest onslaught has torn our world apart, obliterating the sanctuary we called home and pushing us to the brink of despair. For the fifth harrowing time, we've been uprooted, fleeing our own land's violence, only to face death threats even in our supposed refuge.

The past 6 months have stripped us of the essentials of life—clean water, sufficient food, medical supplies, and any semblance of safety or mental peace. My children's nights are haunted by the glare of explosions and the drone of aircraft, forcing us into a life of fear where sleep at 18:00 is a feeble attempt to find solace in turmoil..

Amid this chaos stands my family: my husband, Tamer, underwent a kidney transplant surgery four years ago. Currently, he is facing severe complications exacerbated by the shortage of clean water and essential medications, including:

- Prograf: 1 mg, 7 capsules daily

- Mycophenolate: 360 mg, 1*2

- Prednisone: 20 mg

- Omeprazole: 20 mg,1*2

- Cocor: 5 mg, 1*1

- B. Aspirin Tab: 1*1

- Amicoor: 1*1

These medications are increasingly difficult for them to obtain amidst the turmoil of war. If Tamer fails to locate his medication, there is a 99.9% chance of developing kidney failure.

Tamer, a man of profound kindness and an unwavering love for animals; Mina, our 21-year-old daughter, whose dreams now clash with the harshness of our reality; Mohammed, 20, whose aspirations in finance and love for basketball provide fleeting distractions; Yumna, 17, who finds joy in dance and animals; and Ali, 15, a bright spark in math, dreaming of teaching physics.

This appeal is a plea for your compassion, a call to rally around a family desperate for a lifeline.
