Our beloved brother, Raffaele Mediati, was living a full life until a sudden stroke during the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. As he began recovering, Raffaele faced a difficult decision: surgery to decompress his spinal cord in the hopes of returning to full health. What followed was something no one could have expected.
During the surgery on June 12, 2025, a rare condition known as White Cord Syndrome occurred, causing severe damage to his nervous system. This left him as a quadriplegic. Though Raffaele has undergone three additional surgeries and is in the process of rehabilitation, the road to recovery is long—doctors say it could take 12 to 24 months to see significant progress.
The situation has only become more challenging.
Despite his medical needs, insurance has denied his stay at the rehab hospital, and the only nursing home that can accommodate him requires $13,000 upfront, a fee we are unable to pay on our own.
This is where we need your help.
We are asking for financial support to cover Raffaele’s medical expenses, therapy, and rehabilitation costs. Any donation, big or small, will help ensure he receives the ongoing care he desperately needs to recover.
If you're unable to donate, sharing this page and raising awareness is just as important. Your support, in any form, could be the key to Raffaele’s recovery.

Thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity.
With gratitude,
Rocco Mediati (Raffaele’s Brother
