There are some people in this world who never ask for help, because they are too busy giving it.
Raeleen is one of those people.
A fierce, compassionate grandmother and unwavering advocate for those society often forgets, Raeleen has spent her life showing up for others. Whether it’s taking in her grandsons when no one else could, helping her daughter get bond even when it hurt her own finances, or quietly slipping money to someone in need. Raeleen gives, not because she has extra, but because she knows what it feels like to have nothing and still fight.
Now, she needs us to show up for her.
Recently, a massive tree cracked a part and collapsed onto Raeleen’s home, damaging both her house and her neighbor’s. She doesn’t yet know if insurance will come through. What she does know is that she still has two young grandsons to protect, feed, and provide for. She's doing everything she can to keep her family afloat.
On top of that, a bail bond she co-signed, trying to give her daughter one more chance, has come back to haunt her when her daughter didn’t show up to court.
What She’s Facing:
- $2,500 deductible for tree damage
- $2,500 deductible for an asbestos claim
- Up to $25,000 for tree removal if insurance refuses to cover it
- Insurance may only offer $500 total if they claim it was a lightning strike
- $3,000+ owed on the bond
That’s over $30,000 potentially on Raeleen’s shoulders, just to get back to where she was last week.
Raeleen would never ask for a handout. So I’m asking for her.
She’s the kind of woman who stays up late writing letters to the incarcerated because no one else does. The kind of grandmother who makes sure her grandsons feel safe, loved, and seen every single day. The kind of neighbor who would shovel your driveway or bring you groceries before thinking of herself.
Let’s surround her with the same care she gives so freely to others.
How You Can Help:
This fundraiser will help Raeleen:
- Cover her insurance deductibles
- Pay for emergency tree removal
- Keep a roof over her grandsons’ heads while repairs are sorted
- Clear the unexpected bond debt
- Cover essentials like food, supplies, and temporary housing
No gift is too small. Every share matters. Every act of love counts.
Let’s give back to the woman who never stops giving, even when her world is falling apart.
If you can give, please do. If you can’t, please share.
Let’s show Raeleen what community really means, because she’s spent her life building it for everyone else.
Thank you for helping Raeleen find her footing again. Let’s remind her that she’s not alone.
