A Childhood Friend’s Appeal: Help Rachna Fight Cancer
My name is Dushyant Nayak, and I am reaching out from the US to ask for your help for Rachna Dubey. Rachna is the wife of my closest, dearest childhood friend. After the sudden and tragic loss of her husband (Anoop Dubey) , she is now fighting an uphill battle against oral cancer in India.
In January 2020, my dear friend Anoop was suddenly hospitalized on January 1st at Vedanta Hospital in New Delhi after being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism—a severe blood clot in the lungs. Despite two weeks of intensive medical care, we tragically lost him.
A Story of Immense Resilience
Rachna’s world changed forever in early 2020 when her husband passed away at just 38 years old. Left to raise two young children alone, she soon faced her own nightmare: a diagnosis of oral cancer.
Since then, her journey has been marked by more than just illness:
Compounded Grief: During the pandemic, she also lost her father-in-law, leaving her with no immediate family support to help navigate her treatment.
The Current Crisis:
After a recent relapse, Rachna has been moved to Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital in New Delhi.
A Mother’s Strength: Today, she sits in a hospital bed with only her 15-year-old daughter by her side. They are exhausted, alone, and facing mounting medical costs that no single mother should have to carry.
How You Can Help
Rachna is fighting for her life so she can be there for her children. Living in the US, I feel a deep responsibility to support my late friend's family, but I cannot do it alone. We are raising funds to ensure she receives:
- Life-saving surgery and chemotherapy.
- Post-operative care and essential medications.
- Basic living support for her children while she is unable to work.
Every Act of Kindness Counts
Your donation—no matter the size—directly impacts Rachna’s ability to receive treatment in India. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this link with your network and keeping her family in your prayers.
Let’s show Rachna and her children that they are not alone in this fight. Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
