Help Rachida Learn, Grow, and Build Her Future

Hello! My name is Emilie Barbera Saulnier. I had the incredible pleasure of meeting Rachida (18 years old) during a trip to Morocco in July 2023. She and her family live in a small, remote village located about 45 minutes from Marrakesh, nestled in the stunning Atlas Mountains. The pictures on the cover are of her village.

During my visit, Rachida and her friends warmly welcomed my friend and me into their home, offering tea, biscuits, and a beautiful afternoon of singing and dancing. It was a truly moving experience that stayed with me long after I returned home.

In November 2024, Rachida reached out to me, and we began speaking more regularly. She shared more about her life: after completing 6th grade, she had to leave school due to financial difficulties, and the middle school she would have attended was located far away, requiring a long and unsafe journey.

As the eldest of five siblings, Rachida now spends most of her days helping her mother with household chores. Still, she holds on tightly to her dreams: learning English and one day working either as a tour guide or with a humanitarian organization (NGO).

We are setting up this GoFundMe to help Rachida take the first steps toward her goals. We aim to raise funds to buy her a computer with a keyboard and to pay for a one-year internet subscription. With these tools, she will be able to study English online, opening up many more opportunities for her future.

Because of her family's conservative values, Rachida is unable to share personal photos of herself here. We deeply respect her and her family’s wishes and appreciate your understanding.

All donations will be transferred into a secure, separate savings vault that I personally manage. The funds will be used exclusively to purchase a laptop, keyboard, and a one-year internet subscription for Rachida, ensuring every contribution directly supports her education and future opportunities.
