On February 18th, 2026 my mother Rachelle Fisher was officially diagnosed with Stage 4, Her2+, Hormone Receptor+ Breast Cancer that has metastasized to her bones. This is an incurable diagnosis. It's been a long and painful journey to get here, but we're happy to finally have answers.
To know my mom, Rachelle, is to love her. She knows how to make anyone and everyone feel loved and seen. The favorite aunt, the BEST friend, the most supportive wife, and the "cool mom" are all titles she proudly holds. She has poured so much of her life into her community around her, and life has thrown an unfair occasion for us to give it all right back to her.
Rachelle starts treatment in early March. Her treatment plan currently consists of:
- 6 rounds of chemo over the next 6 months, followed up with scans to reevaluate metastasis progression
- an ongoing anti-HER2 therapy
- an ongoing bone strengthening treatment
Unsurprisingly, these treatments are expensive, and will most likely effect her ability to work and provide a second-and necessary-income for the home. When considering the cost of having the cancer diagnosis Rachelle has, we're considering:
- Cost of living (rent, transportation)
- Meals
- Treatment
- Medical purchases
- Medications and pain relief
- Every other expense we're unaware of at this point in her treatment
Something my mother taught me early on is the power of community, and leaning on others when you don't feel like you can do it alone. The endless giver Rachelle is, thank you for giving back to her in any way you can.
Linked below are options to purchase things from her amazon list, to contribute to our meal train, and her social media pages where she posts occasional updates on her health, but more importantly where she continues to share how she's living her best Rachelle life. ✨
From my family to yours, thank you
