In August my best friend, Rachelle Kelly-Church, was diagnosed with an invasive ductal carcinoma - breast cancer. Rachelle is a mother of two boys & a stepmother to 4 kids. Rachelle & her husband, Justin, live and work in Canberra. Rachelle's cancer surgery was undertaken in September & the results are in. Rachelle will need aggressive prolonged chemotherapy, followed by radiation. While undertaking her treatment Rachelle will have to significantly reduce her working hours (not give it up completely - of cause why would cancer stop her!!) so she will be trying to work from home when she can and that will place her family under extreme financial hardship. With Christmas just around the corner the thought is - how will they manage to pay bills let alone give the kids a great Christmas. Anyone who knows Rachelle knows she always gives to others and goes out of her way to help - never leaving anything for herself. During this fight she needs all of her strength & focus to be on beating this horrible disease.
